Short release, short review: Italy’s BLASPHEMER who released a solid slab of technical brutal Death with 2008’s “On The Inexistence Of God” have put out a new EP which contains a 4 new tracks plus a BROKEN HOPE cover. Musically it’s more or less a prime example of the sort of brutal Death I’m tired of hearing: clearly inspired by the likes of DISGORGE, MALIGNANCY you’ll get your daily dose of complex riffing, highspeed drumming, vacuum cleaner vocals and chugging breakdowns, so far, so boooooring. In case you’re a total junkie of this style, please, go check BLASPHEMER out, but I can’t help considering this not more than a superfluous, arbitrarily sounding piece of brutality – my workmate whom I’m playing this stuff too as well, usually says: “It all sounds the same to me!” Guess what?
