BLITZKRIEG
Back From Hell
(Metal Nation)

BLITZKRIEG are back with a new album. Over one hour this NWOBHM legend delivers classic Metal tunes and doesn’t get boring for a second! It’s amazing that 33 years after the band’s founding year they’re still relevant unlike so many others. From fast aggressive stuff to semi ballads you can find everything on this CD a Metalhead can wish for. Good songwriting, catchy yet never cheesy melodies and Brian Ross’ monotonous but gripping voice. My faves are the fast banging title track, the slow and heavy ‘Sahara’ and the JUDAS PRIEST tribute track ‘Call For The Priest’ which primarily consists of PRIEST titles woven together. Probably that’s why the band still keeps the fire burning: they’re still huge Metal fans themselves. One can argue about the ‘Seek & Destroy’ cover – who needs that – but as METALLICA covered ‘Blitzkrieg’ on ‘Creeping Death’ and ‘Garage Inc.’, Ross and Co. return the favour some 30 years later. Anyway, after having seen the band live only four days ago, I’ll be attending their next show tonight again and so should you if you have the opportunity. www.blitzed-alive.com, www.facebook.com/pages/blitzkrieg/480971538582872
