BULLET
Speeding In The Night
(Agonia Records)
26:27min

I don’t give a shit if this mini CD fits our musical concept or not, because we have reviewed so many crappy and superfluous Black, Death and Thrash Metal releases throughout the years, that mentioning a great Heavy Metal record such as "Speeding In The Night" should be more than justified once in a while. And hey, you know what – this band features former INCINERATOR / HYPNOSIA bassplayer Lenny Blade, so (apart from its musical qualities) we have at least one good reason to tell you about it. The strangest thing about Sweden’s BULLET is the fact that they are sounding pretty close to a band of the same name which used to be around in Germany in the early 80s (with two albums out). Which means, that this is a very cool mixture of ACCEPT (songwriting / backing vocals) meets AC/DC (especially due to the "Back In Black" era – Brian Johnson type vocal delivery!). The six tracks on this mini CD are well written, excellent performed and offer a really good production (haven’t heard such a cool, non-digital drum sound in ages!). Even though their songtitles are full of the typical Heavy Metal clichés (‘Bang Your Head’, ‘Heavy Metal Highway’, ‘Leather Love’ etc.), BULLET surprisingly never sound pathetic nor could they be added to the list of the stupid, so-called "defenders of true Metal" that are poisoning nowadays underground with silly slogans and an even more stupid image. The whole disc sounds totally honest, is aggressive and catchy, but by no means wimpy or fake. So, if you still play your old Heavy Metal records from the early 80s which joy, make sure to give these guys a listen. They easily bring back memories on more glorious times!
