After a couple of demos, Finnish Thrashers in CEASELESS TORMENT ended up signing a deal with a small and independent record company BWK Records. CEASELESS TORMENT, formed in 2008, have been sharpening their weapons from one release to another, and it truly shows on their 8-track debut album "The End They Bring", which also contains 3 songs taken from their couple of previous demos. ‘Craving For Revenge’ off their first 2010 demo with the same title, and ‘Worthless World’ and ‘Apocalyptic Battle’ off the band’s 2nd demo, titled "New Decree of Reprobation". With an increased amount of songwriting skills and having an ability to compose an album length of material, the CEASELESS TORMENT camp has taken their time to rehearse, shape and sharpen their troops for a serious Thrash attack, which also happens in a somewhat favorable way on this debut studio album of theirs. CEASELESS TORMENT have chosen their side – and that particular side in question is to play vicious, in-yer-face and brutal kind of Thrash Metal, which begs no mercy and take no prisoners if some clichés are allowed to be used for describing the band’s sound just a little bit. It’s really such Thrash Metal icons as SLAYER and SODOM that have undoubtedly been the strongest influences for the lads of CEASELESS TORMENT as there’s not only a handful of moments on this very record but a constant stream of them instead, that offers some familiar throwbacks about ‘SODOM-esque’ or ‘SLAYER-esque’ vibes here and there in the band’s nicely old school tinged Thrash sound. Not only the guitars’ tone reminds me of the one Jeff (R.I.P.) and Kerry of SLAYER had on the "Divine Intervention" album but both Sebastian’s and Kim’s barrage of mean sounding riffs have a relatively serious attempt to ape the ex – SLAYER duo’s riffs and stuff. Having said this, you should know I am very happy the way the riff machine known as Sebastian and Kim let their axes speak for, in the name of one of the greatest Thrash Metal icons ever, SLAYER. All this evil and wicked guitar shredding added with Sebastian’s rasps and snarls (he pretty much sounds like Tom Angelripper of SODOM at his twenties), backed up with all the band members’ seamless determination to play together as a tight unit, it truly pays off for the guys on their very promising debut. I kinda am surprised by myself to say this but "The End They Bring" has so far been one of those most positive surprises for me personally during the first half of 2014.
