Death Metal from Sweden. Most of the time you can expect either a NWOSDM clone or something totally different. Now, remember EDGE OF SANITY’s and GRAVE’s debut albums? Yes, they didn’t sound anything like the other bands that came out around the same time and from the same country. Luckily, CREEPING FLESH’s 2016 demo "Scorched" falls into that category. Upon first listen, I immediately wonder why this band hasn’t been picked up by a label. "Scorched" is amazing! Period. The production (by Dennis Eriksson of Working Class Studios) fits their brand of pummeling Death Metal perfectly. Now, the drums sound a little too processed for me although Marre’s performance is flawless. Both William and Sofus come through with some killer riffing, with Conny going along their guitar lines with a huge bass sound. Mr. Karlsson’s vocals are great as he alternates deep growls and some mid level grunts to accentuate different parts of the songs. The music does have some melodic elements that add just enough variety to their sound. I mean, the band was formed in Gothenburg. Although CREEPING FLESH is not bringing anything new to the table, their music is simply devastating! Death Metal played with conviction and the right attitude. I really can’t say anything else, except that 3 tracks were not enough for me. Just go to the band’s official site and get this. GET IT! I can assure you won’t be disappointed. I am looking forward for these guys to come up with their album, because they deserve it. Contact the band here: www.creepingflesh.se, www.facebook.com/creepingflesh
