DEAD SUN
Night Terrors

“Night Terrors” is the sixth full length by DEAD SUN and their first on Xtreem Music. It’s impossible to ignore the fact that Rogga is the musician behind this project. Frankly, I’ve lost count of what he does at any given point in time. “Night Terrors” starts off with your typical HM2 routine, it’s a standard Swedish Death Metal release. There are no surprises on this album and quite honestly it’s a good companion in the car. The drumming stands out immediately, absolutely solid from start to finish with no fillers anywhere. Again, DEAD SUN isn’t trying to reinvent the wheel here, they’re simply having good quality fun. Rogga’s vocals seem to be getting better over time. The album does have some fantastic melodic solos sprinkled around. Track #2 ‘Kingdom Of The Mad’ surely stands out, both for its viciousness and the beautiful melodic parts. The haunting background synth sure adds a good layer to the music, the overall heaviness is moderated and angled into a soothing melody from time to time. The album is just about 30 minutes and seems the appropriate length. It surely is a solid Death Metal release, packing all punches and checking all boxes. We know Rogga to not leave scraps behind and constantly provide a well sounding record and “Night Terrors” is no different. If you’re in for a long night or a long drive, this sure makes a good companion. For more information please check https://rjdeadsun.bandcamp.com, www.xtreemmusic.com
