When you receive a promotional pack with stuff released by Iron Fist Productions (label owned by Tomas Nyqvist, Putrefaction ‘zine editor and No Fashion Records founder) you all know that stuff kills for sure!!! And Deceiver is no exception. They deliver 5 intense tracks of f*****g Tthrash Metal on this self titled mini album, but not the typical retro stuff you’re used to get these days, no, the guys play in the vein of old Destruction, Slayer and early Vio-Lence, with a result similar to early Criminal, but with a more diverse and intense sound, courtesy of Tommy Tagtgren and the Abyss Studios, where riffs performed by Pete Flesh take you to a self-strangulation and screams of Destormo took the whole blood of my body and put it in my head just a few seconds after of opening track ‘Deceiver’. And the remaining 4 tracks just put me on coma after 19:42 minutes of headbanging. If it’s a taster of their upcoming "Riding With The Reaper" album (due to be released later this month, I guess on Iron Fist again) then it surely will shred!!
