DEMILICH from Finland was one of the best Scandinavian Death Metal bands in the 90s and together with ABHORRENCE / AMORPHIS, CONVULSE, DEMIGOD and SENTENCED they were the leading force of the Finish Death Metal scene. After 4 demos they released their cult debut "Nespithe" via the American cult label Necropolis Records in early 1993 as their first ever official release. This masterpiece is essential for everybody, who is into old school Death Metal from Finland but also for everybody, who is into technical Death Metal. These double bass attacks paired with the dual guitars and the catchy and technical riffs and the deep grunts of vocalist Antti Boman were ahead of their time. The technical drum work of Mikko Virnes was also ahead of other bands from that time. Their style of playing was very unique and of course sounds Scandinavian but is difficult to compare to any other band of that time. Even though Death Metal had its peak already in 1991 / 1992 and DEMILICH came late with the release of "Nespithe", the material was on the same quality level of their Swedish neighbors ruling the world at that time, they just were signed too late to receive the credits they should have received. Sadly DEMILICH then decided to split up in 1995 and never released a second album. 2005 they came together again for one show and some rehearsals and recordings but then decided once again to stop in 2006, to finally return for another farewell show in 2010. After bringing back CONVULSE and the re-release of the early ABHORRENCE material, Svart Records from Turku now honours this special band with a very special release 20 years after their first full length. "20th Adversary Of Emptiness" contains all material DEMILICH ever had recorded, starting with their 1991 "Regurgitation Of Blood" demo and finishing with 3 songs they recorded in 2006 during their first short comeback. All material has been remastered by Sami Jämsén of Studio Perkele from the original 24 bit tapes and new masters have been created from these for best possible sound. The double CD version with 29 songs (!!) features complete new artwork by Turkka Rantanen, who also did the original cover of "Nespithe". The original artwork is included as well. The CD also features a 40 pages booklet with lyrics and comments as well as an interview section with vocalist Antti Boman. Also a 3 LP version will be released for all vinyl lunatics and collectors with a 44 pages booklet and some more gimmicks. www.anentity.com/demilich, www.facebook.com/demilichband, www.svartrecords.com
