DIA DE LOS MUERTOS
Day Of The Dead

DIA DE LOS MUERTOS was founded in 2005 and the "Day Of The Dead" EP was the band’s first release the same year. It is some kind of self-titled release, the Spanish band’s name translated into English. Just in case you do not know about the famous "dias de los muertos" in Mexico, go and ask the internet. I guess at this point it’s useful to reveal that DIO DE LOS MURTOS was incorporated by Andres Jaramillo and Alfonso Pinzon of AGONY together with Vincent Price of BODY COUNT. At the time this EP was recorded a vocalist was missing, so each song is done by a different vocalist. Only the first one features the band members, all the rest was done by Maldito X from ASESINIO, Alex Okendo of Colombia Death Metal band MASACRE, Andres Gimenez from Argentina’s A.N.I.M.A.L. and Loana dP Valencia of L.A. based Thrash Metal band DREAMS OF DAMNATION. Quite a variety. The EP starts with a boring track in the vein of American Hardcore, speeding up a little bit towards the end. This song draws no one from the woodwork, so to say. The next song ‘Day Of The Dead’ reminds me of the Judgment Night soundtrack, especially of the SLAYER / ICE-T song ‘Disorder’. The following three songs are as well in the vein of some crossover between Thrash Metal and Hardcore. If you are listening all the livelong day to rotten Death Metal (so do I) it is quite a enjoyable happening, but that’s it. The "Day Of The Dead" EP and two full-lengths are available for free download via the band’s homepage. www.ddlm.net, www.facebook.com/ddlmband
