These guys mean war – pure, electric, maddening. Or, to put it in terms of a current dance hit – “they are in for the kill.” From the start (or should I say stop, since after this there is really no point in going anywhere) this album is relentless chaos of bestial madness. Already a veterans in the field of warlike Black / Death Metal, DIOCLETIAN continue to deliver the goods they are known for. “Doom Cult” is a record that has its brothers scattered aroud the lifless globe of battlefields. Albums by such bands as BESTIAL WARLUST, MANTICORE and MORBOSIDAD are good reference points if you are inclined in that direction of sentimentality (tears falling when you look at the closing scenes of Grey’s Anatomy and that kind of stuff : -)). Guttural Black Metal I would call this product, with its atmosphere of plague-like underground menace. The music is perfect, absolutely perfect in delivering all that it stands for and more. Edge is always there, in guitars that deliver twisted melodies, in drums that gloriously march through the guts. And the vocals are… opiatic. They drip, they shine like obsidian and they flatter the ears with the sounds of otherness and deep material shit. I swear, the rats have gathered around my window upon hearing this, accidentaly mistaking me for their kin. This is good, this is God. And blackness for everyone. Classic this must be, no other way and I will listen to it forever. Check: www.invictusproductions.net
