EKRON CULT is originally from Paraguay and relocated to Chile. And besides a self-released demo tape in 2007, I cant find any more info on the band. But I can tell you something: “Queen Of The Luxury” is a total homage to the mid / late-80s South American sound! This short beast of an album is almost (what I call) an ‘instant classic’. The raw production, the obscure mix and the whole atmosphere is simply amazing! Everything is neatly placed: short songs (incl. ‘Burst Command ‘Til War’ by SODOM – Frank), a tight execution, great riffs by The Attacker and a solid rhythm base courtesy of The Antagonist on bass and The Vandalic on drums. I also liked the fact that this is not a rip-off. The band sounds original and fresh. Absolutely and highly recommended for all Death Metal fans! Actually, I’ll end this review with a little piece of advice: if you worship bands like SARCOFAGO, VULCANO and HOLOCAUSTO, go get EKRON CULT’s album NOW (just like all the other Proselytism releases also this one comes in an 8 panel, foldable 7″- sized digipak – Frank)!
