Wow, just wow… “Thronosis” simply blew me away. That’s what I call dark and malicious. This is Death Metal at its best. I’m always rather skeptical when it comes to bands which are going to release something new after years of hibernation or nonexistence. So I was when I heard about a new EXCOMMUNION recording. I really loved the debut album “Superion” and the split with DETHRONED and so I didn’t expect too much. But hey, “Thronosis” completely convinced me. I never expected something outstanding like this. “Thronosis” is an outstanding dark Death Metal beast and it is surely the band’s best work so far. This is a masterpiece of dark, atmospheric and hyper brutal Death Metal and a lesson in violence and overwhelming strength. “Thronosis” is a very varied piece of Death Metal supremacy. Ultra heavy slow-motion riffs are alternating with massive blasting eruptions. Christbutcher delivered an awesome vocal performance. Holy shit, his voice is so fuckin’ intense, brutal and vicious. He sounds like a demon lord commanding the troops of hell. Also the very massive and powerful production kicks major ass. I dare to say that the new album is one of the best Death Metal releases in 2017. My fave songs are ‘Twilight Of Eschaton’, ‘Nemesis’, ‘World Crucifier’ and ‘Blessed Is The Epoch Of Darkness And Strife’. So don’t waste your time with lame and mediocre releases and buy it now!
