Demo 2017
(Baltic Warlord Records)

The merchants of death and destruction from Baltimore, Maryland have returned with yet a demo, displaying six tracks of punishment and torture. Downtuned raw Death Metal caged within an universe of chaos and doom, this is dark, grimy and evil. There are some good guitar riffs and blasting drum patterns, and the guttural growls spiced with tons of reverb and some wicked screams work perfectly in this universe. This sounds much more old school than some of the releases from back in the late 80s, where I guess much of the inspiration for the music has been found. This doesn’t sound dusty or a leftover from forgotten times, this sounds real and passionate, and quite harsh. EXTERMINATION ANGEL has come a long way since the last release "Demo 2015", they have become more grimy and noisy, the raw power is more intense and in your face and the vocals much more wicked. The band has been around since 2007, and has so far released 3 demos and a full length, which isn’t much considering today’s standard. But it’s still better than releasing a lot of mediocre tunes that are not being remembered in the future. If you just want one taste of punishing Death Metal chaos in 2017, then "Demo 2017" aka "Invaders" is your poison!
