Everlasting Spew Records have re-released the first full-length album of FRACTAL GENERATOR from Canada. As a lot of bands from Canada release quite technical stuff, I was curious to hear, what tunes this outfit has to offer to the world. FRACTAL GENERATOR play high-speed brutal but very technical Death Metal and quickly NILE comes to my mind. The opening track ‘Cycle‘ shows already all trademarks of the band and offers their full range of quality. Very technical guitars with blast-beats and ever pounding double-bass only interrupted by well-done breaks like NILE jammed around with IMMOLATION and FEAR FACTORY but also some DEATH vibes of their second era can be traced or even CYNIC seem to have influenced this Canadian horde. Their sound gets enriched by some kind of HI-FI or Science Fiction styled keyboard sounds which sound a bit weird in the beginning but start to fit well after a while of listening. Also their rhythm guitars sound very groovy here and there and help to bring some variation to their sound. The instrumentation is already on a very high technical level and the production is damn clear and very powerful. Their songwriting is fine and the grunted vocals deliver the necessary portion of hardness to their technical site. Rounded off by a well-fitting cover artwork, this first output of the band has already a good quality level and all fans of technical Death Metal should give this output a chance. I am curious to hear, in what direction they will develop in the future. For more info check the following sources: www.facebook.com/fractalgeneratorofficial, www.everlastingspew.com
