These Mexican sickos are the newest addition to the superb roster of the horror infested US based label Razorback Records. This album comes directly from beyond the graves where zombies and other creatures dwell and reign surpeme. The trio from Reynosa offers you eight macabre tales full of horrific, repulsive and ghastly content. It should be no big surprise for you that GUTRWENCH are heavily influenced by Californian legends AUTOPSY, old Ohio cult NECROPHAGIA or the almost fogotten, but great squad SORROW. And of course Horror flicks! Their style is a deadly blend based on their influences plus the incorportaion of their own unique interpretation of that style. Heavy, low tuned fucking old school Death Metal with a lethal dose of ultra skull splitting Doom is what you get here. The tracks are very well executed and it’s obvious that these guys know how to create a haunting and ghastly atmosphere with their instruments. Some of the merrits go to the down tuned axes and the vomited gory vocals. But the rhythm section with its distorted bass lines and heavy, rumbling drum work gets some credits as well and completing this sound of your daily nightmare. The stuff on this relase is not too complex but that was also not the purpose. The performed tunes work very well and are effective as hell. Tracks like ‘Disrupting The Cemetery’ or ‘Meeting With The Dead’ give off the putrid stench of rotten remains and unleashing an eerie mood. If you like to party with the undead, preferable at the cemetary or graveyard, then "Mausoleum… To Dwell & Rot In" is the perfect soundtrack for this event. HOODED MENACE and COFFINS addicts are invited as well as supporters of the bands named above and any lovers of Death / Doom Metal in general.
