It’s surprising to see that good old Thrash Metal is still alive. Poland’s HORRORSCOPE (cool name, by the way) totally fit in this genre and they offer the great spirit of bands like FORBIDDEN, EXODUS, TESTAMENT, HEATHEN or other bands from the Bay Area, but also influences from modern Thrash Metal bands like THE HAUNTED are offered here, which suits them just perfect. Well, I think I have to mention OVERKILL here, too, probably as connection to their cool “Horrorscope” CD which might have helped them to find a name for their band! This is nothing new but in these days it sounds very fresh and honestly spoken this is a release worth to buy for the fans of the above mentioned bands and this style. The whole outfit is professional in all concerns, the sound is powerful, the songs are varied and tight played and the layout of the CD is cool. For me it’s quite obvious to see that this is no new band anymore, in fact “Evoking Demons” is their 3rd CD (I hope I’m right here…), though the first I know. Currently Thrash Metal is two-dimensional for me, you have it either old school or modern, HORRORSCOPE belong somewhere inbetween and this makes them something good and special. At the end of this review I need to say that it’s great to see that Poland has far more to offer than cool Death Metal bands (e. g. VADER, BEHEMOTH…). This gets me to the result that Thrash Metal fans should check out this release and support a fantastic and upcoming band. www.horrorscope.net
