Deus Lo Vult

After a single called "Violent Aggressor" in 2012 and the album "Classic Death" in the same year, these lads from Chile released this EP in 2014. All these releases were done in own management and the result is pretty remarkable. That they still haven’t been signed is beyond my comprehension, since "Classic Death" was a fine record! It reminded of KREATOR on "Terrible Certainty" except for the vocals and was raw enough to stay interesting. It even had some typical elements like group-vocals, so old school as my socks. On "Dues Lo Vult" at times they still sound like KREATOR only a few albums later and mixed with some MEGADETH. Unfortunately the rawness is almost vanished and it sounds controlled and more mellow. Much, very much room for melody which shows you the quality of guitarists (and brothers?) Marco Suarez and Lucas Suarez front row. In the opening titletrack ‘Dues Lo Vult’, after the famous warcry at the declaration of the first crusade, they give all they got which cause some eruptions of solos. Drummer Emil Toro and bassist Carlos Cornejo also have lots of talent and together these guys have a very mature way of songwriting. In the four tracks ‘Dues Lo Vult’, ‘Hymn Of Death’, ‘Last Mistake’ and ‘Consumed By Revenge’ it seems like a complete different band than on "Classic Death", but when the speed is up like in ‘Consumed By Revenge’, it sounds pretty cool even though the vocals take away the raw edge. The band seems to have a different attention here, but despite the clear qualities I miss the intensity of the previous material. In case you’re into some melodic Speed / Thrash I suggest you’d take a listen. Check out www.facebook.com/pages/houndz-of-hate/142224109168329 for more info.
