Waking Nightmares Of An Endless Void

There are a few definites in life. Death, taxes and damn good Death Metal. We all know in this day and age nothing is gonna be breaking any boundaries or setting a new standard. The best we can hope for is music played with conviction and energy and also just paying respects to the originators and keeping the feeling alive. INTOLERANCE offers much of that. Plenty of emotions, moods, and dynamics happening on this release. You get a healthy dose of AUTOPSY, moments of BENEDICTION, and also a sound similar to fellow Spaniards SEPULCHRAL. Except INTOLERANCE have a more doomy vibe to their sound. The former is more Speed, D-beat, Punk Death Metal. I mention dynamics cuz there are smatterings of keyboards that emphasize the songs and the dark atmosphere. This gives a slight Lovecraftian feel to the overall vibe (take a look at the cover and say that it does not). Also vocalist āPā has a dark guttural growl but he varies it with different approaches, which gives a good dynamic as well. He is very similar to Martin van Drunen and John Tardy and also bits of early era Chuck Schuldiner. Production is good and lets all instruments breathe for the most part. So as stated before, we can hope for the best in the new crop of bands hitting the scene and giving us our needed dose of quality Death Metal. www.facebook.com/intolerancedeathmetal, www.facebook.com/memento.mori.label
