We all know South American Death Metal for the most of it stands very well on its own, particularly the countries in this continent have a reputation for having a unique take on the Metal genre as a whole. If I didn’t tell you what I was playing and simply played this EP, chances are you will know KROMORTH is a Brazilian Death Metal band! Now, once you lay your eyes on the cover of their 2021 EP “Opposition” you realise how stellar the art is! The detail is amazing and the mood of the cover captures the spiritual output of the album. The opener ‘Opposition Tyrant’ is a traditional Death Metal track with literally everything going right, granted the drums could be slightly lower in the mix but otherwise this is a wonderful execution reminding us or rather taking us back to bands like HEADHUNTER D.C., which is one of my favourite Brazilian bands, period. Relentless rhythm section, uncompromising vocals and chainsaw guitars, this EP literally has it all. I do have a point or two about the drumming and the mix, but that’s fine. All in all, you must definitely consider checking out KROMORTH’s new EP, I am positive a lot of the fans of the genre will enjoy this.
