NECROSCOPE METALZINE
Issue # 30
(148 pages, A5, xeroxed, in English)

Running an underground paper fanzine already for way over 20 years definitely deserves a lot of respect! Adam Stasiak from Poland is such a guy. He recently released the 30th (!!) issue of his NECROSCOPE METALZINE, and judging him just by his writing, he still has the fire of enthusiasm burning deep inside of him, even after such a long period of time. This is pretty amazing, especially when you find out that he’s doing the zine completely on his own, with no other staff writers involved. He’s still deeply rooted in the underground and totally dedicated to the raw and aggressive side of Black, Thrash and Death Metal. Therefore also his latest issue features some really cool content again. This time around you’ll get to read in-depth interviews with DISRUPTED, GOATBLOOD, TERRÖRHAMMER, INFERNAL GOAT, WARGOAT, BITCHHAMMER, DECREPIT CADAVER, COPROFAGO, DISCREATION, ATOMIK DESTRUKTOR, SLAUGHTBBATH, MOLOCH LETALIS, MORBID VOMIT, MEFITIC and AXA VALAHA PRODUCTIONS plus approximately 225 (!!) reviews (zines, albums, demos, EPs etc.). The layout is clear and simple (definitely not meant in a negative sense here!), the xerox quality good and the entire issue is just packed to the max! On top of it all, you’ll even get a free copy of the extremely cool HEADHUNTER D.C. CD “Death Kurwa! Live In Warsaw 2013”, which was released by the Scottish label Bestial Invasion Records a little earlier this year and which is highly recommended on its own already! And you’ll get it all for just 5 Euro, 8$ or 20 PLN! On the other hand I’d also like to mention some little advices that would improve the zine and make it even more enjoyable in the future. Yes, like a bunch of others before me already, I’m also complaining about the lack of staples since a fat issue like this is really difficult to read when the pages aren’t fixed, and the english language should be improved (since there’s a lot of mistakes in the grammar and stuff). In the review section it would also be nice to mention the label that is responsible for the release, or at least a website address for the band (an email address at the end of the review isn’t really helpful if you would like to find out more about the band in question). Presenting the reviews in an alphabetical order would be another nice improvement in order to find reviews a lot quicker. But hey, all this sounds a bit like counting peas when I start to think about it, so feel free to call me a jerk if you like ; -) Anyway, all in all NECROSCOPE pretty good reflects how overcrowded the current underground scene really is. I mean, c’mon – nobody has enough time, motivation and money to give such a shitload of releases / bands a listen anymore, no matter how die hard or enthusiastic you may be… well, unless you’re such a maniac as Adam, I guess ; -) But that’s not the fault of NECROSCOPE of course, just a comment from someone who’s pretty much fed up with the whole situation for quite a while already.
