This Greek band formed back in 2005 and presents their second album of pure Death Metal. Their first full length, released in 2011, was a quite good work of MORBID ANGEL-esque Metal of Death with some old school Swedeath touches and a strong Thrash vibe. Well, for their second album, for the grace of the dark one, they have kept their essence intact, yet they have developed a lot as composers and executioners. In this new album the band sounds closer to UNLEASHED and that only can be a good thing. The riffs are present everywhere, and the guitars do have a quite juicy and thick sound. Also the band is capable of changing tempos and doing so with great ease, but never stepping down in heaviness. Maybe one point where the album is not the strongest could be the vocals. While they are quite adequate to the style, they mostly sound very similar. Yet, this is a minor flaw, that I find on an otherwise very enjoyable Death Metal album. In the overall aura of the album there’s a sense of impending doom and the coming of darkness over the mortal souls. It is the kind of album that at times can be a mind-setting experience just with the music. The other band I will say has a good dose of influence in the sound is INCANTATION, although these Greek warriors have taken that sound to be merged in fire with the aforementioned Swedish masters. Given the fact that the band members also play in other killer bands like EMBRACE OF THORNS and ACRIMONIOUS it is no surprise they have created such a great album. www.facebook.com/necrovorous, www.darkdescentrecords.com
