This new Greek band is ready with their debut full length, which I also think is their first real release, please correct me if I am wrong though. Ten tracks of ritualistic occult Death Metal delivered with quite some ambience and conviction. The Greeks are travelling in the footprints of the already established scene of dark and ritualistic Death Metal bands, though NEKRARCHON do also have something to offer on their own. The music is well written and there is a good flow through out the album, with some great progressions and interesting elements. There are some good disharmonic melodic guitar riffing that pushes the music forward, the drumming does its thing, and the supporting rhythm patterns do their job. The growls are guttural screams, fitting for a black mass like this. The charm lies in the compositions, which are quite hypnotic and draws you into their vortex, and keeps you there, all the way through. The music and atmosphere fill your soul with darkness, and leave you somewhere somber and grey, to watch time erupt and transform. A quite interesting and deep record that maneuvers around in some interesting esoteric topics, that were a part of the foundation of the monotheistic religions of our time. The music matches the mysticism with its ambience and all swallowing darkness. If the band can keep this intensity and level of mysticism up, it will be very interesting to delve into the next couple of albums they, hopefully are going to write, record and release, and it would also be quie interesting to see how it will work on a stage.
