NEKROSITY
Return From The Crypt

A rotten Swedish entity has seen the dark of night, NEKROSITY is a fairly new band, formed in 2009, though has just recently released their first sound of decomposed Death Metal, in form of the tape "Return From The Crypt". We are talking dirty and raw old school Swedish Death Metal, as at the end of the 80s and start of the 90s, it is very simplistic and raw. The bass is pacing the music forward and is very audible, while the guitar is hidden beneath the crunching basslines and isn’t really making much noise. Though it shows its ugly face now and then, as in the second track ‘Traveller Through Flesh’ where it is heard, though with a quite thin and not that inspiring tone. That tone is though fitting for this release, the same goes for the last track ‘Nameless Faceless’, where we again are getting a little shredding from the six stringer. The guttural growl is well done and quite a perfect fit for this tape, a dark and deep growl with a good pace and power, that carries the music a long way, together with the frantic drumming. I’ve used quite some time listening to this tape, as I couldn’t really get a grasp on it at first, as it seemed a tad boring and uninspiring, compared to a lot of the other releases being put out these days. Though it wins with time, and it will be exciting to see if these lads can push the bounderies and do some more music soon, with a bit more punch and power. For now they are nice worshippers of olden days and do it with a good deal of dust, though an enjoyable release for what it is.
