NUCLEAR OMNICIDE, this 4-piece Finnish Thrash Metal act, was formed in 2010 when the members of the band all were about 15 – 16 years old. These young Thrashers’ main passion was to play Thrash Metal of the most aggressive and relentless kind. In the fall of 2011, the guys went to record their 6-track EP titled "Unleash Yourself", which also managed to bring a reasonable amount of positive attention to them. After a little while, also the independent Mexican label EBM Records laid their curious eyes on these youngsters, wanting to add them to their ever-growing roster. The first fruit out of this deal is NUCLEAR OMNICIDE’s debut album titled "The Presence Of Evil", which really showcases these lads’ fast, violent and totally maniac-like Thrash Metal in somewhat totally kick-ass form. If another young Finnish Thrash Metal combo LOST SOCIETY borrows a thing or two from bands like ANTHRAX and MEGADETH, NUCLEAR OMNICIDE goes and takes a few slices of influences from such Thrash names as SLAYER, VIOLATOR, DARK ANGEL, VIO-LENCE and the likes; sounding more mean, heavier and simply being more determined to cause hurting necks to all of us than their fellow country boys. This is indeed some well-made and convincingly played Thrash Metal, and it’s sort of unbelievable to think these four fellows – still clearly under their twenties, have managed to thrash their hearts out this mature and mind-blowing way. Vocalist and bassist Benny Raivio reminds me a bit of a younger version of Martin van Drunen, when thinking of his vocals getting fitted into a more Thrash Metal type of mould. The title track of the album, ‘The Presence Of Evil’ especially, lasting over 7 minutes, brings these young Finns’ true songwriting skills out to the daylight. And who says these guys would not have heard their SLAYERs ever, ha! Nonetheless, this is honestly one of the better Thrash Metal debuts I have heard for a long while. If I were you, I would check NUCLEAR OMNICIDE out immediately. Band: www.facebook.com/nuclearomnicide, label: www.ebmrecords.com
