PARASITARIO hail from Japan and were formed in 2018 to play vicious Death Metal. Since then they have released several EPs and demos and even a live album with a few gigs worth of music. Their latest release is this “Afterlife Truth” demo, with three original songs and a cover version of a tune by SKELETAL REMAINS. The whole thing feels rather DIY, but it suits this kind of music, in which we can even find some Punk traces here and there. Everything sounds very organic and genuine, and I much enjoy this distorted, but clean production and old school vibe. The songs themselves are straightforward, but well crafted, with great fast-paced riffs that blend very well with the drumming (‘Shattered Times’ being a particularly well-achieved track in this respect). If, like me, you love the Death Metal of old and bands like GORGUTS, ASPHYX and the likes you are very likely to find this a surprisingly good little EP. It certainly did convince me!
