"Remnants…" is the second album from the American RUDE. This band was formed in 2008 and was active untill 2010. From then the band continued under the moniker FORSAKER. In this period they released the demo "Forsaker". In 2011 they decided to proceed under RUDE again and in 2013 released the demo "Haunted". Followed in 2014 by the full-length album "Soul Recall" and a compilation this year called "2008-2016", which features the FORSAKER demo. The style on "Soul Recall" was fast Death / Thrash that reminded strongly of classic PESTILENCE. Big part in this are the vocals of guitarist Yusef Wallace that sound very close to young Martin van Drunen. "Soul Recall" was a solid and nice record that would have scored heavily a quarter of a century ago. Today, two years later, "Remnants…" is released and at first notice there hasn’t changed a thing. The band still leans heavy on PESTILENCE and in faster parts HELLWITCH comes to mind. Unfortunatly "Remnants…" misses the conviction of "Soul Recall". It misses its rage, catchiness and spontanity. The vocals are still great and the atmosphere is there, no doubt, but only the titletrack had some killer moments, but that’s not enough to spend your money on.
