RUSTED BRAIN
High Voltage Thrash

Indeed a nice album title and if you ask me it fits quite well to this energetic outburst of riff-laden old school Thrash Metal. To all experts: don’t start this lame retro Thrash discussion anymore. This topic really bores me to death. Of course this Polish horde neither delivers anything new nor anything innovative. All lessons have been taught decades ago – but that goes for all genres in Metal may it be Death, Black or whatever. And to add more progressive or innovative stuff means to head too much away from the genre’s roots which is nothing I enjoy – and dedicated manics might think maybe the same. So to make it short: there’s only good and bad music. And at least in my humble opinion these young lunatics from Warsaw belong to the first category. This four piece outfit takes no prisoners and can easily convince every headbanger with its relentless and fast Thrash assault. Yeah, they have really a lethal dose of speed in their compositions but nevertheless their riffs are razorsharp and precise and RUSTED BRAIN garnish them with some cool traditional Heavy Metal influenced melodies and leads. The band varies the pace and shifts down into a slower gear sometimes (‘Waiting For Death’) to keep up the intensity and make the whole stuff more interesting. An explosive mix, played with a lot of passion and (despite the young age of the members) the right atittude. The nine tracks (incl. intro) are really enjoyable and it makes a lot of fun to listen to such fresh sounding Metal and having a good time. Drummer Benek beats everything to dust, the two axemen duelling each other on and on while basser and frontbeast Damien screams and shouts out his guts. Furthermore the band profits as well from the bonehard and powerful sound. This horde proved already that they have the quality and potential by supporting bands like HIRAX, ASSASSIN, MEGADETH or KREATOR (just to name a few) with whom they shared the stage in the last few years. Their nine track demo "Juggler" meant a good start for them but with "High Voltage Thrash" these Thrashers reach out for higher goals. Just have a listen to aggressive and furious tracks like ‘Caught In Fire’ or ‘Bloodbath’. If you aren’t deaf you will be immediately caught by the sheer power of that squad – a feast for all lovers of violent Thrash Metal at the edge of insanity.
