If you’re feeling down or depressed these days you gotta make sure to check out the second album by the Slovakian fourpiece SANATORIUM! I was listening to “Internal Womb Cannibalism” for the first (and last…) time while driving alone with my car. Big mistake, cause now everyone who witnessed me that particular day will probably avoid to cross my path again in the near future. But all of a sudden I just couldn’t control myself anymore and had to break into a loud laughter… and that was exactly the time when the band’s new (second!) vocalist started to do his part. He is so unreal and ridiculous that I could easily compare his voice to a chuffed grunting little pig around feeding time. No, I’m not kidding! And as the album title probably already gives away, musically SANATORIUM try to combine elements of grind with gory Death Metal the American way, but mostly lack in the necessary talent to write good songs. The whole album just sounds average at its best moments. And that’s when the original vocalist adds his deep and way better grunting to the songs. I really wonder if PROPHECY’s James Parks II and LIVIDITY’s Matt Bishop knew what kind of bullshit they were contributing lyrics to?! If you’re into ultra deep guttural gory Death Metal, you better check out the American scene as it certainly offers a lot more potential and quality. This here is nothing, but unbelievable…
