SANCTIFICATION
Misanthropic Salvation

I really appreciate the fact that after many years of annoying melodic “Death” Metal releases, brutality has finally returned to the Swedish scene with full force! And with SANCTIFICATION we can add another great act to this constantly growing list! This fourpiece, which consists of members from DERANGED, DEFACED CREATION and AEON, got together in the summer of 2001 and only released one self-titled demo about a year later. Even though this particular tape only featured two songs with vocals (the vocal tracks for the other two songs accidently got lost in the studio), Germany’s Remission Records were impressed enough by them to sign the guys right away. The premier result is entitled “Misanthropic Salvation”, comes up with eleven songs (plus an intro) and is currently blasting out of my speakers while I write these lines. SANCTIFICATION plays a very American influenced form of brutal Death Metal, reflected in rather short songs (each between 2 ½ and 3 minutes long), always straight to the point, very crushing and entertaining as fuck! Nothing groundbreaking new and definitely with a quite big DEICIDE overtone to it yet, but as long as it gets performed in such a fresh sounding manner and with so much dedication to it, I couldn’t care less. Cool record and definitely a band with a promising future! Check out www.remissionrecords.de for all further info.
