This might be a great album for people into MESHUGGAH, SOILWORK, STRAPPING YOUNG LAD, DARKANE or IN FLAMES, the production is excellent and heavy, it sounds modern and musically SCARVE vary between fast parts including a couple of Death/Thrash riffs and diverse vocals shifting between screams/growls and clear parts. Personally I feel not a single thing when listening to this kind of contemporary extreme Metal and that is exactly my problem with SCARVE and all the other bands I mentioned above. What feelings do you want to deliver or release with your music? There are none audible! No aggression, no violence, no hatred, no depression, not a single thing. If a PC would make Metal than it would sound like one of the aforementioned bands. Sure they are great musicians and especially MESHUGGAH and SYL did groundbreaking experiments with Metal elements and created something “new”, but it does not touch me at all when I listen to it, sorry! If you enjoy any of the bands I named at the beginning of this review SCARVE will appeal to you, too, because they certainly have the groove, the modern sound, the unconventional approach one might consider interesting, but it is definitely not my cosmos… Visit www.listenable.net and be sure to check out the label’s real good bands like IMMOLATION or THE LEGION.
