SCHIZODEATH is a band from Poland playing a kind of mid-paced Death Metal with some Thrash touches. This debut demo features only three tracks (and an outro), but each one is about five minutes long, so there’s enough music here for you to form an opinion. I like the distortion and the heavy production, as well as the old school feel. The music is heavy, but rather on the simplistic side, although the drummer does the effort to keep his drumming varied, and the string section is tight, coming up with several catchy riffs. The vocals are suitably strong and beastlike, even if a a little one-dimensional. Not a bad start at all, but this is certainly an introduction of things to come… word is they are currently at work in new material. The last song, ‘Spiral Prog Anhedonia’, is probably the more elaborate one and, likely, a good indicator of future pathways of musical development.
