SEQUESTRUM
The Epitome Of Putridity
(Extremely Rotten Productions)
15:30min

SEQUESTRUM is a Death Metal band from Copenhagen, Denmark. Now, I’m just going to say this right at the start that this is not cavernous Death Metal, this is underground-industrial-waste-pipes-pumping-toxic-waste Death Metal. This is exactly how I want bands to sound live and SEQUESTRUM have brought their filth right onto a CD via Extremely Rotten Productions. The vocals sound like resonating rotting steel pipes, the guitars spring to life reverberating the downtuned atmosphere with the solos, quick and painful sprinkled across this release. The bass and the drumming are the highlights here, the low end takes your imagination, shatters it and lowers it further to give you a better view in the dark. The drumming is on point, it is really well done. Even in the madness of what SEQUESTRUM is doing, the drumming easily takes the cake here. The band says that they’re a pathological grinding Death Metal outfit and frankly I don’t care, the title “The Epitome Of Putridity” is an exact representation of what lies within. Just get a copy of this, simple, you need to listen to this if you remotely like Death Metal. I thoroughly enjoyed it. A side note though, there are a lot of DEMILICH’esque elements here that aren’t really in your face but are very delicately incorporated in the song writing, really well done! With the running time of just 15 and a half minutes, you couldn’t ask for anything better.
