SIKFUK are a gore Grind band hailing from Minnesota (can’t be many of those around… INCINERATE maybe?). With an album title like “Teabagged At Birth” and song titles like ‘Fucked With A Dildobong’, ‘Snowballed By Grandma’ and ‘Tits Covered In Dickhole Sores’ you can tell right away that these guys don’t take themselves too seriously. Listening to the album only reinforces this. There are samples from the “Dave Chappelle Show” and the movies “Dirty Work” and “Team America”… I can honestly say I never thought I would hear Dave Chappelles voice on a Metal CD. The music itself, which is produced from only two guys (a guitarist/vocalist and a drummer) is sloppy as hell and surprisingly pretty interesting… Definitely not exactly what I was expecting. It’s kind of like a mix between HYMEN HOLOCAUST and CEPAHLIC CARNAGE. In one respect it’s like your typical low-fi Goregrind with the silly lyrics and themes but then you also have these weird song structures and guitars. The drumming, done by Tardsnake (great name), is actually pretty good, although it is sloppy as all hell. He even throws in a few (sloppy) hyperblasts here and there and overall there is a lot of variation to his style. It’s the same with the guitars… sloppy as hell, but interesting and pretty original too. The production is real fucking shitty but it fits the music. The vocals are pretty much the expected low gurgles that are standard for this type of music. Nothing special… but not bad either. All in all it actually ended up being a pretty entertaining listen. I can safely recommend this to fans of low-fi Goregrind, and even the open-minded Metalhead (for the unorthodox guitar and drum segments), but I’m sure the shit production and sloppy nature of the music will put off most people.
