SILENT OVERDRIVE

Metal Core / Modern Thrash Metal may be the right description for the style performed on “Disease”. There are many bands around playing this sort of Metal, but most bands in this genre did not manage to write any good songs, which means for me personally that those bands are winding up in mounting riff on riff and thereby losing the feeling for the song. But SILENT OVERDRIVE manage to escape this trap by using clean vocals, melodic guitar attacks and some nice rhythm changes. Of course “Disease” is mostly based on modern Thrash Metal and you will not find the mentioned aspects in every song, but just when you think it is getting boring, SILENT OVERDRIVE are breaking in on adding some variety to their Metal Core. This is the first full-length release by this German outfit and once again the thesis that playing live supports bands – especially new bands – regarding both technical skills and the ability to write songs is verified. So after the EP “Babylon Nation” and many live shows, SILENT OVERDRIVE are on the right track to become more than a promising newcomer. www.silentoverdrive.de.
