STRYVIGOR
Forgotten By Ages

I found very little info on this band besides they are a 3 piece band from the Ukraine. And that they play atmospheric Black Metal. In this case, the band sounds more like an elegant avantgarde Black Metal, with speed passages and melody, and quite adequate vocals, not in the high pitched realm, more in the cavernous type, but done with strong pronounciation. The atmospheric parts can also be related to some Doom Metal bands which use subtle keyboard parts, and there are quite a few passages that remind of some progressive and even some post Rock. If there is something the music evokes it is a really cold and frosty image, pretty much in concordance to the cover art. After a few listenings, I can sense some DARKTHRONE and BURZUM sound, done with a lot more finesse, as well as a noticeable DISSECTION sound, but also the music transports the listener to an age where the sword was the law and the icy frost the tomb for those wounded in battle. And they do possess that aura and mystique only bands from those places can translate into music so well. The musical execution is also noticeable. And this album is also one of those that grow with each listen. I already worship bands like LUCTUS, OBTEST and MASTER’S HAMMER (a few names to give you an idea), and now I can add this one in that list. Keep an eye on this one. www.svarga.eu
