Transcendent Warfare
(Demented Omen Of Masochism)
27:06min
Named after a powerful WWII tank, this second full length form this band based in the UK (although with a multinational line-up) offers probably something that by looking at the cover art, name and title is expected: total and war themed Black / Death Metal. Calling them War Metal is not wrong, yet I feel that they have more in their music than to be compared to BLASPHEMY or REVENGE, which they do have some influences from, but I would also say that early SARCOFAGO, SEPULTURA and KREATOR and of course the almighty BOLT THROWER might be bands I would compare them to more. The recording is also quite good, it is clear and not that noisy for what similar bands usually are, and you can actually hear the riffs and their deadly intentions. Although the band mostly plays at high speed, they are sounding heavy when they play at mid tempo and then just shoot speed ammunition into the unsuspected victim again. Some early MORBID ANGEL vibe can be heard too, making this quite interesting. At my first listen this album didn’t do that much from me, but after a few more spins, things were slowly developing, giving me a similar aura as the legend known as FACE OF EVIL, yet without forgetting the other names mentioned before. At just below 30 minutes, it’s the right amount of time for this type of Metal. If you are fan of the style, believe me, this is some really good new weapon to roll over skulls and bones. www.facebook.com/sturmtigerwarmetal, www.facebook.com/dementedomen
