Black’n’Roll is a vague concept, as is Death’n’Roll. To some, it suggests regular Heavy Metal with harsh vocals, or Black Metal with clear vocals. The reality of it is, a fusion of the two, and this is what TARANIS does. Vocally, the band is derivative of IMMORTAL, however, musically, there’s a fairly wide variety of influences, ranging from MOTÖRHEAD to BLITZKRIEG to TAAKE. Some tracks are clearly composed in the NWOBHM vein, whilst others assume the epic guise of PRIMORDIAL, TAAKE (as mentioned above), and a host of other Pagan Metal bands. Eclectic indeed. There are even back up vocals, something that is far from common in Black Metal. This is the second album by TARANIS, a direct successor to the debut in 2007.
