TEARS OF DECAY

Ostfriesland strikes again! It’s unbelievable how many extreme Metal acts popped up in this countryside area in the northern part of Germany over the past couple of years: VOMITING CORPSES, ANASARCA, CRUST, FEARER, BK49, ACT OF FATE, SATAN’S BLOOD… And now the highly promising TEARS OF DECAY have to be added to this list as well. Even though the five song mini CD "Redemption" is still the band’s debut release it already knows to impress and will certainly leave quite a few mouths wide open. TEARS OF DECAY play a really intense form of brutal grinding Death Metal with obvious influences from the American scene. Just like ANASARCA these guys never sound German at all (which is meant as a compliment of course!) and impress with amazing technical abilities already! Their deep guttural vocals, lots of blast beats and brutal riffing, all in all performed on a high songwriting level should make them known in the underground pretty easily and prove that this type of music is not an American domain exclusively. Ok, the production ain’t perfect yet (which shouldn’t surprise you at all if you remember that this release had to be paid completely out of their own pockets and was their first studio experience ever!) and I’m furthermore not that much impressed by the cover design, as I associate those type of pictures more with Punk and Hardcore acts. But musically this is extremely enjoyable if you’re into the most extreme form of brutal Death Metal. You can order a copy of this CD-R (which comes with a pro-printed CD inlay card and cover) for 15,-DM at the following address: Michael Eden, Fokko-Ukena-Str. 14, 26721 Emden, e-mail: MEden@gmx.de
