TENEBRO is a new Italian brutal act composed of only two members: Il Becchino and Il Beccamorto. They are deep into classic horror themes just as other Italian acts are into as DEATH SS or ABYSMAL GRIEF, to name a few. Unlike the aforementioned acts, TENEBRO is into the densest forms of Death Metal. Launched last year by Spain’s Xtreem Music, this release contains the “Liberaci Dal Male” EP plus 3 extra songs from a demo tape released in 2019. ‘Cannibalismo Sanguinario’, ‘Arte Funeraria’ and ‘Il Lamento Dei Malati’ are present on this short EP. This is heavy and brutal (no doubt about that) but their approach to Death Metal is a bit plain and monotonous for my personal taste. The structure of the tracks is not really advanced or revolutionary; quite the contrary: it is conservative. A programmed drum, as on this record, can ruin your stuff (think about OBSECRATION’s “The Inheritors Of Pain”). In this case, the drum is as irrelevant as the rest of the instruments. The demo stuff contained here is not so different from the EP related stuff (I guess the drum is a programmed one, as well). The only thing that is inspiring me here is just mediocrity.
