Australian THE AMENTA optically seem to do their best to achieve this year’s DIMMU BORGIR / CRADLE-award the “Gayskar”, but musically they do not turn out to be another copy of those bands, but mix brutal blasting Death Metal with electronic sounds, spacy ambience and industrial samples. Although this kind of music totally objects my personal taste THE AMENTA are not executing their modern concept as shitty as for example THE HERETIC did, the Aussies sound like skilled musicians, the album is fantastically produced and people looking for a Death Metal science-fiction soundtrack might really dig “Occasus”. It does not reach my universe but maybe Metalheads loving Star Wars can get high on this, hey R2D2 what do you say after hearing “Occasus”? “Biddledibeep” – Ah, ok, robots like this… Now, are you a robot?
