The revised and extended edition of GLORIOUS TIMES is finished now and currently in the printing stage, ready to be shipped at the end of November. It features 160 pages of rare and mostly unseen photographs, tied together with sentiment and reflections from the very people who lived the era. 11 new bands were added, with stories from such legends as Ron Sumers (SLAUGHTER), Scott Peterson (CRYPTIC SLAUGHTER), Eric Meyer and Jim Durkin (DARK ANGEL), Joe Caper (RIGHTEOUS PIGS), Brian Lehfeldt and Shann Mortimer (WEHRMACHT), Ross Dolan (IMMOLATION) and also Rob Urbinati and Scott Watts (SACRIFICE) among others. Swedish DIABOLICAL have signed with Abyss Records for the worldwide release of their upcoming full-length album, "Ars Vitae", due out in February of 2011. The album contains 17 tracks and will feature a mix of new material – recorded earlier this year at Necromorbus Studios – and previously unreleased recordings. VOMITORY have entered the Leon Music Studios outside Karlstad, Sweden, to record their eighth longplayer. On October 29, 2010 Malta’s BEHEADED have entered Temple Studios with producer David Vella to record the successor to 2005’s "Ominous Bloodline", tentatively titled "Never To Dawn". OBSCURA has recently completed work on their brand new album "Omnivium" and revealed its track listing: ‘Septuagint’, ‘Vortex Omnivium’, ‘Ocean Gateways’, ‘Euclidean Elements’, ‘Prismal Dawn’, ‘Celestial Spheres’, ‘Velocity’, ‘A Transcendental Serenade’ and ‘Aevum’. The album was recorded at Woodshed Studio in southern Germany with engineer V. Santura (TRIPTYKON, DARK FORTRESS) and is expected to see a March 2011 release. OBSCURA drummer Hannes Grossman commented: "The recording process was intense and time-consuming, but it brought us many steps forward as musicians both individually and collectively. The songs are still catchy, but there are more epic parts involved, as well as faster and more melodic songs. The extremes of the band’s sound extend on all sides, so to say. Expect some things which have never been done before like this in Death Metal!" Additionally, Grossman is working on his first instructional drum DVD titled "Progressive Concepts for the Modern Metal Drummer". The DVD will feature different chapters about hand / foot techniques, blast beats, advanced double bass drumming, rhythmic modulations, and song and performance tutorials. "After the recordings for OBSCURA’s new album I decided to start filming because the energy of the recording process was still valid. The final motivation came from NILE-drummer George Kollias, with whom we toured in Japan. Thanks again, Bro’! Of course the DVD will not only feature solo and song performances, but also very deep advice about the things that I use, like finger control technique, hybrid techniques, advanced foot technique or odd-time signatures." Here’s the official press release for the upcoming DEEP SEEDED movie that features KAM LEE: Caisson Films of Winter Park, FL wraps feature film, DEEP SEEDED. Written and directed by independent filmmaker Brian Troxell, the film deals with the psychotically shaken killer Brad (Death Metal legend Kam Lee) with a "Deep Seeded" past. He plans to avenge his horrible high school days when he hears of his schoolgirl crush unexpectedly passing away, and comes into contact with her two daughters (Janine Anzalone, Little Italy). This stomach-wrenching thriller takes vengeance to an elevated level by showing just how sinister Brad is and how shocking brutality can be. "I wanted to make a film where I was able to take off the gloves and stop sugar coating everything", says the director about the brutal scenes viewers can look forward to. Backing up the crew of Caisson Films is special effects team CS Studios, who already have an extensive list of independent horror films under their belt. Some effects viewers can expect to see in the splash zone include grinding a leg in half with a saw and ripping nipple rings out with a knife-just a couple of Brad’s very creative ways of inducing torture. Also teaming up with Caisson is media production team 3:16 Productions. This team expands on the whole spectrum of media, including filming and editing some of Troxell’s previous work. Production has been officially wrapped as of mid-October, but editing isn’t expected to be complete until summer of 2011, which will also be done by 3:16 Productions. EXUMER have been confirmed to headline the "Thrash Or Die", festival in Tijuana / Mexico on December 17, 2010. This appearance marks the band’s first live performance in Mexico to date and EXUMER’s final live show for 2010. The two main supports in the festival’s line-up are Californian thrashers FULED BY FIRE and BONDED BY BLOOD, who have also supported EXUMER at last year’s Thrasho de Mayo festival. Vocalist Mem V. Stein comments: "It is a great honor for us finally play in Mexico, especially this year which is our 25th anniversary. We know that we have many Mexican fans and that was quite evident when we played at the Thrasho de Mayo festival last year in L.A.
