Damn! How good it is to hear this music! I remember when “Spectral Devastation” came out in 2020. That was my introduction to the music of the great SÖLICITÖR. I was immediately captivated by the music that (that year) this American band presented to the world on a full-length album. I remember sharing it a lot with some friends, and we were all fascinated. Well, five years have passed since that moment in 2020. I had lost track of them. But now that I know they are back with this, their second album this 2025, “Enemy In Mirrors”, I can’t be but happy. Something that is crucial for me in Metal and that I constantly talk about is “coherence.” Maintaining the identity. The sound. That what a band offered us when it first arrived to the world, whenever that may have been, holds up over time. And I’m not talking about “repeating themselves.” I don’t think a band wants to repeat itself with a formula that might have worked for them initially. Creativity is part of art ultimately. And I’m glad that here, on “Enemy In Mirrors”, SÖLICITÖR is being more than coherent. I don’t know what the releases in between the first album “Spectral Devastation” and this “Enemy In Mirrors” sound like; I haven’t heard them. But something tells me they have always been coherent. When I listen to this new album, I feel the same energy as in 2020. One that comes from a very well executed Heavy / Speed Metal. With an impeccable and precise vocal performance for the band. Those guitars that are constantly ejecting those melodic lines, those solos full of virtuosity, a bass that impeccably supports them, and a drumming that dominates at a gallop. This album is full of mystery, agony and strength as fuck. It’s hard to focus on an isolated aspect of this album, or of this band, but I’m fascinated by the vocal work of Amy Lee Carlson, a woman who can be defined as the “heart” of SÖLICITÖR. Everything here is set up to make her powerful voice stand out. Fantastic. Simply fantastic, this album. Highly recommended for those who love good Heavy Metal.
