This is the debut recording of this very young Polish band, yet they did it with a lot of hard work behind. To start, the recording is fantastic, everything sounds in the right place, heavy guitars and pounding rhythm section, not too polished or not too raw, just what it needs to sound good. The vocals are very good, raspy Black Metal vocals, not that high pitched, but with emotion and singing in their native tongue to give that exotic touch. And yes, this is some sort of Black Metal, but built and composed with finesse, emotion and sometimes with some sort of essence more akin to a Progressive Rock, yet I would say it is just that it possesses a more open form of performing, with acoustic passages here and there, and moments that are very emotional, with depressive cold melodies. I would say that some sounds are more akin to Doom Metal, although that type of Doom Metal played in an up-tempo form. And for whatever reason the drumming reminds me of that Punk essence found in early extreme Metal bands. For just five songs, and such young band members, the future is definitely very interesting. As this is, I must say that it sounds very good, and probably the only thing I was missing here were some faster parts, but the atmosphere they are able to create more than makes up for that. www.facebook.com/pogarda.bm, www.facebook.com/godzovwarproductions
