“Oculus Rot”, the debut album from Dutch Death Metallers BURIED, has just been released via Brutal Mind. A full album stream is available right here. Members of BURIED have released the following comments: “You may remember the brutal vocals of Joel Sta and the insane drumming of Robbe V, as they were part of the brutal Death Metal band PYAEMIA. Now they’re up for something new: together with Worm on bass – who also played in PYAEMIA – they have teamed up with Steve on guitars who adds a lot of groove in his songwriting. Bands like SUFFOCATION, REVOCATION and DECAPITATED are big influences on our sound, and even PANTERA comes to mind. We like it heavy, sometimes with odd time signatures and at the same time we want the audience to bang their heads. The lyrical theme is about all dark things we call upon ourselves. Nothing new on that part, just brutal stuff!” For all additional BURIED information check out www.facebook.com/buriedmetal

German Death Metallers NECROS CHRISTOS have split up. The band has just issued the following statement: “Behold ye brethren and sisters, for a last time we call out to you and thus, with saddened hearts, we have to proclaim the definite end of NECROS CHRISTOS. Due to the international situation we were forced to cancel all farewell shows we had actually planned for 2020 and we will not be able to postpone any of those to a later date. It was a long journey to go, with many highs and lows, but we are utmost grateful for all the moments we shared as a band, on the road, in the studio and with YOU, our supporters, our fans. We were never big in the business, never sold ourselves in any way, but that’s exactly what we are proud of. We always lived by the formula of integrity, being true to ourselves and the music we adore so much. We will always support the underground Metal scene as individuals and our sincerest hope is, that all aspects of our sacred cult named Heavy Metal will last to continue forever. So let us celebrate the last rites together and keep us in memory for the above mentioned, at least this is all we can hope for. We would like to thank wholeheartedly the following people, bands and zines, who accompanied and supported NECROS CHRISTOS from the very early beginnings ’til the end: The Imperator, St. Thomas & Sepulchral Voice Rec., TEITANBLOOD, Blacksnake Nadasdy, Martin Chain, Luciferus Christhammer, Black Shepherd, Raelin Iakhu, GRAVE MIASMA, Sven & Ván Rec., VENENUM, DROWNED, ASCENSION, Timo Ketola (Deathless In Spiritual Evil, R.I.P. frater), Ronald Zieger and his horrible eyes, Manuel Tinnemans, Antti Litmanen, NEGATIVE PLANE, Daniel Abecassis, Ekaitz Garmendia, ARCHGOAT, Theby, Axel F., Axel S., DEAD CONGREGATION, Chaos Descends Festival, Party San, Deaf Forever, Rock Hard, Voices From The Darkside, all Fanzines (you are the true pillars of the underground!), and finally yet most important, all our fans worldwide, you are the one and only source of the scene, we hail you forever. Beyond any words, thank you!!! Amen.” www.facebook.com/darknessdamnationdeath

Drummer / vocalist / lyricist Proscriptor (Russ R. Givens) of Texas based “Mythological Occult Metal” act PROSCRIPTOR MCGOVERN’S APSÛ has just issued the following statement: “We have just completed the mixing process for the debut / self-titled album on Agonia Records. Earlier in 2020, I dissolved the 30-year old sanctuary of ABSU to emphasize on a renewed songwriting concord. With this forthcoming record, my objective was to append the signature sound of “Mythological Occult Metal”, but to convolute it with bouts of psychedelia, fusion and vintage electronics. The only individual that sees outside the circles of time is Vorskaath, as we have discussed a musical collaboration for nearly three decades. Now, he has fulfilled voids where applicable: from frenetic to oscillate.” The band’s line-up also features the just mentioned Vorskaath (ZEMIAL), bassist Ezezu and guitarist / bass player Vaggreaz. The album was recorded at studios around the world with final mixing handled in Dallas, Texas by Proscriptor and J.T. Longoria and mastering by Karl Daniel Lidén in Sweden. It features guest appearances from Ross Friedman (ROSS THE BOSS), Rune Eriksen (AURA NOIR / VLTIMAS), Alex Colin-Tocquaine (AGRESSOR) and The Dark (AGATUS).
