On April 25, 2020 Nuclear War Now! Productions will release the comeback album from Canadian Thrashers WITCHES HAMMER, “Damnation Is My Salvation”, on CD and vinyl LP formats. Three songs on the album are re-recorded versions of classic tracks from earlier releases: ‘Frozen God’, ‘Deadly Mantis’ and ‘Witches Hammer’ all originally appeared on the band’s demos, but are now revived and repurposed for the band’s new line-up. The other tracks are all newly written and recorded. South American Death Metallers REPTILIUM will release a new four-song EP entitled “Adrenochromacy” on April 17, 2020 via Slam World Wide. The follow-up to 2019’s debut EP “Conspiranoic” was recorded, engineered and produced by REPTILIUM’s Nirah (guitar & vocals) and Cecrops (drums) at Valley Of The Death in Quito, Ecuador. The music for the EP was written and recorded by Nirah. The drums, cover art, lyrics and vocals were supplied by Cecrops. UNANIMATED’s “Ancient God Of Evil” (1995) and “In The Light Of Darkness” (2009) will be re-released via Century Media Records on May 15, 2020 on CD and LP. The release date of “In The Forest Of The Dreaming Dead” (1993) will also be announced soon. “Ancient God Of Evil” has been remastered from the original DAT tape by Dan Swanö, while the layout part was taken care of by Erik Danielsson (WATAIN). Both “Ancient God Of Evil” and “In The Light Of Darkness” will get a 180gr gatefold vinyl treatment with enhanced and updated layouts and liner notes. The liner notes are based on an extensive in-depth interview with Richard Cabeza. They will be released as a three-part series, split among the booklets of the three respective albums. The LP edition of “Ancient God Of Evil” will additionally also be available on transparent red (ltd. to 100), white (ltd. to 200) and silver (ltd. to 200) vinyl. “In The Light Of Darkness” on transparent red (ltd. to 100), lilac (ltd. to 200) and gold (ltd. to 200) vinyl. Spanish Death Metallers AVULSED have just issued the following official statement announcing their new drummer: “The drummer’s curse continues in AVULSED and just 15 months after Rafael Aritmendi’s incorporation, he announced that he was leaving the band upon returning from the show in Bucharest (Romania), alleging incompatibilities with his studies, which would prevent him from being able to compromise thoroughly with the band. It was completely unexpected news, but we understand his reasons and we can only thank him for his time in the band and to wish him the best in his future projects in life. And without wasting a minute, we got in touch with our first option: Jorge Utrera, drummer in HOLYCIDE, the band where our vocalist Dave Rotten also plays. Casually, Jorge played two shows with AVULSED last December, replacing Rafael due to tendinitis problems that prevented him from playing. In these two shows, Jorge proved not only to be an excellent drummer with technical skills that adapt perfectly to the needs of the band, but also an excellent person, whom we have also known for 6 years, and his integration in the band will be immediate. Austrian noise avantgardists TRISTWOOD will release their new album “Blackcrowned Majesty” in May 2020. It is the successor to “Dystopia Et Disturbia”, which was released in 2010. In 2019 the band already released a compilation of three EPs under the title “Nyx”, which was initially made available mainly to the inner circle of the TRISTWOOD fanbase. “Blackcrowned Majesty” will take TRISTWOOD back to their roots of lightning-fast Black Industrial Metal that the band is known for.
