GOREAPHOBIA are currently putting the finishing touches on their long-anticipated new full-length "Apocalyptic Necromancy". The 12-track long player was recorded, mixed and mastered by drummer Jim Roe and features new guitarist VJS (Kult ov Azazel, Crimson Moon, Demoncy, etc.). Comments guitarist Alex Bouks of the band’s latest output: "All of us in the GOREAPHOBIA camp are real excited about finishing the new record. The new tunes will once again contain 1000% occult Metal nihilism! The only way I can describe our new endeavor is that’s it’s very diverse and takes us back to the band’s roots. Jim has once again recorded and mixed the record at his home studio, Neanderthal. "Apocalyptic Necromancy" also marks the debut of our new guitar player VJS. There’s a highly positive and magical vibe for the band at the present time. For me, this record is a true progression from the song writing and production on "Mortal Repulsion". We hope to have it out soon for all our long time and newer fans." GOREAPHOBIA will release "Apocalyptic Necromancy" later this year.
The CD version of "Indhentet Af Doden", the debut full-length by Denmark’s UNDERGANG, is finally going to be released on February 15, 2011 through Xtreem Music. It was previously already released on vinyl format, with only black & white cover, in January 2010 by UK based label Me Saco un Ojo Records. For the CD release the band encountered countless problems, which caused such a long delay until in November 2010 everything was finally finished and ready to find a spot in the label’s tight release schedule. UNDERGANG’s music is devoted to the most dense and heavy Death Metal such as ROTTREVORE, MYTHIC, very early GRAVE, CREMATORY (SWE), early AUTOPSY, early INCANTATION, MORTICIAN and the likes. With nearly 3000 copies the Cognitive Records reissue of DÉTENTE‘s "Recognize No Authority" album is sold out now. The band’s follow-up album "Decline" has also done well with over 1000 copies sold in the first few months already, yet the band decided to call it quits again. Here’s the official statement: "The band has put much work into the reunion and believes that while it has been hard work, that it has been a positive experience: having the opportunity to see so many of our friends on our last EU tour was especially cool! The fact is like everyone else, the band has daily responsibilities and the logistics of keeping DÉTENTE moving is no longer possible. While it is conceivable that we could get together for a festival in the future we believe it is time to call it a day. Thanks to everyone who has helped along the way, we value your effort and friendships." Horror Pain Gore Death Productions will release a vinyl deluxe edition of the ABSCESS debut album "Seminal Vampires And Maggot Men", strictly limited to 500 copies. In February 2011 Dark Descent Records will release a double CD compilation of everything ever recorded by Swedish Death Metallers UNCANNY: the two demos "Transportation To The Uncanny" (1991) and "Nyktalgia" (1992), the split release with ANCIENT RITES (1993) and full-length " Splenium For Nyktophobia" (1994). Like the limited run 3 LP UNCANNY boxset released by The Crypt in 2010, this 2CD will be titled "MCMXCI – MCMXCIV" and feature original artwork from " Splenium For Nyktophobia" as well as artwork from the demo era. Germany’s old school Black / Deathers SHAPELESS unfortunately have already split-up, but there’s still gonna be the release of a 15 song compilation tape soon (feat. different mixes of their demo songs). Vocalist / guitarist Cadaverous Odour and bassplayer Cenotaph will continue on with a new drummer under the name BEYOND. According to the band it’s gonna be in the same style as SHAPELESS, "just with a better drummer and better songs!" BEYOND’s debut demo "Relentless Necro Vortex" should be out through Detest Records sometime next month.
Blackened Death Metallers IMPIETY, which currently consist of Shyaithan on bass and vocals, Guh Lu (XEPER, DIVINE CODEX) on guitars, Eskathon on guitars and Atum (MALFEITOR, DIVINE CODEX) on drums, have announced the release of a new mini-CD entitled "Advent Of…" through Pulverised Records. The tracklist reads like this: ‘Advent Of The Nuclear Baphomet’, ‘Ave Satanas’ and ‘Blood Ritual Defamation’. DECAPITATED will be entering RG Studio in Gdansk, Poland on February 9 to record their fifth studio album, the follow-up to 2006’s "Organic Hallucinosis". It will be produced by Wacek Kieltyka and sound engineered by Malta Arkadiusz Malczewski. Drums will be recorded with Daniel Bergstrand (BEHEMOTH, MESHUGGAH, DIMMU BORGIR, KEEP OF KALESSIN, DEFLESHED), who will also handle the mixing duties. BEHEMOTH‘s Nergal left the hematology division of Uniwersyteckie Centrum Kliniczne (UCK) in Gdansk on Monday, January 17, four weeks after he underwent a bone marrow transplant procedure. Here’s his official statement: "Hey! What’s up! At last – one could say. After almost half a year of treatment in various hospitals, several cycles of chemotherapy, irradiation and a bone marrow transplant, I have been finally released home in a pretty fuckin’ good condition. I’m feeling ok, taking the intensity of treatment under consideration. That was not an easy period of my life, but, as I envisioned, I left the hospital victorious. I never considered any other options, but anyway, there were rough moments too… At this point I must express my thanks to the people who made all of those downs fairly bearable. My parents – thank you. You deserve a monument for all your love and patience. Dorotka, thank you for your heroic attitude, love and support. I can’t forget Doda’s fans, who made a gigantic effort for me and other ill people. You rule! Absolutely fantastic BEHEMOTH fans from all over the world were organizing various events to make people aware of what leukemia is. To all of you out there – my deepest respect! Thank you – the real heroes – Prof. Hellmann, Dr. Piekarska, Dr. Knopinska, Doc. Giebel, Prof. Holowiecki and all the nurses of the hematology division of the Medical Academy in Gdansk and the Oncology Clinic in Gliwice for all the professionalism and great hearts. My band mates for all the friendship and never-ending support. All my friends for sticking to me throughout the whole period of my illness. The list is too long to mention you all, but remember, you have special place in my heart." Nergal will now go through a recovery which will last for several months. During this time he will stay in his flat in one of the Gdansk’s districts. "Although the whole treatment went really good, as well as the bone marrow transplant and the post-transplant period, the next several months is the time when I must really take care of myself. Of course I will have plenty of time to recover, think about the strategy and my return to the stage – which approaches imminently (laughs). First of all however I must rebuild my physical condition… apart from that, I hunger for playing, I haven’t been playing the guitar for a half of year now! Really much to catch up, but also a huge motivation and a desire to work again at the same time. This year will be a really important one for me and the band!"

OBSCURA have recently unveiled the cover art for their brand new album "Omnivium" at this location. It was designed and laid out by Orion Landau (ORIGIN, DYING FETUS, ZEKE, DISFEAR). The album will be released on April 04 on CD, double LP and digitally. Pulverised Records have signed Polish Death Metallers ULCER. Formed in 2006, ULCER consists of present and past members from Blaze Of Perdition, Squashed Bowels, Deivos and Abusiveness, recorded 2 demos in 2006 and a debut full-length album entitled "Serpent Trinity" in 2007. The follow-up album to "Serpent Trinity" will be entitled "Grant Us Death", is currently in the works and expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2011. Finnish CORPSESSED have been signed by Dark Descent Records for the CD release of their self-titled debut EP. Scheduled for an early 2011 release, the EP features six tracks of old school Death Metal in the vein of Entombed, Incantation, Deicide, Immolation and GRAVE.
