One of the reasons for the great immediate success of AMON / DEICIDE is that their demos, “Sacrificial” and “Feasting The Beast” had a very good sound, a very good recording, especially “Sacrificial”, recorded by Scott Burns at Morrisound studios back in 1989. Many compilations of these demos have been published over the years, the first original one released by Roadrunner in 1993, but this one has something special. This new release by Darkness Shall Rise Productions can boast a remastering by Dan Swanö from EDGE OF SANITY, owner of Unisound Studios in Sweden. In 2023 Darkness Shall Rise Productions also started to publish some Death Metal stuff on CD and vinyl, like this compilation, the legendary MEFISTO demos or some new bands like OSSUARY and LE MORTE and this is great. About the remaster of AMON’s demos: there aren’t any big changes from the original. You can hear only a “boost” of the sound, but it’s great anyway. In the first half of this compilation you can hear “Sacrificial” and it is a half of DEICIDE’s debut, very well-recorded with a brutal killer sound. Glen Benton’s singing is coming from the depths of hell as usual. The very first demo, “Feasting The Beast”, has a raw recording but a brutal sound too, a very sulphurous and evil atmosphere. Those demos are milestones for Death Metal and for DEICIDE’s career and are an absolute must for every Death Metal addicted. www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100047627406182, www.facebook.com/darknessshallriseproductions
