I never had heard much of this band before, until a friend gave me this CD and told it is great. And well he was right about that – “Incorrigble Bigotry”, ARGHOSLENT’s second full-length album besides numerous demos and EP releases is really good, raw, diabolical Death / Black Metal with lots of traditional Metal influences. The band is allied with such controversial, but musically fantastic acts like CRUCIFIER or GRAND BELIAL’s KEY (“Judeobeast Assasination” rules!). Especially productionwise ARGHOSLENT do not differ from the latter, because “Incorrigible Bigotry” has a comparable clean and powerful sound, that fortunately is far from sounding polished and so preserves enough raw feeling. The melodic parts and classic Metal riffs ARGHOSLENT weave into their music are not used excessively, what keeps them light years away from sounding like all those Swedish Melodic Death fucks. Driving material like the opener ‘Flogging The Cargo’ or ‘Heirs To Perdition’ will make you bang your head at instant and should be absolutely great when performed on stage. When the tempo is reduced even epic moments appear, like for example in ‘In The Purging Fires Of War’. The overall songwriting is full of variety and surprising enough to make “Incorrigible Bigotry” a release that is definitely worth your hard-earned money, check it out! www.arghoslent.cjb.net
