DESALMATVS is a straightforward Black Metal band from Colombia and “Siniestras Voces Del Inframundo” translates to ‘Sinister Voices From The Underworld’. This is a compilation release from Iron, Blood And Death Corporation, I don’t remember when last Iron, Blood And Death Corporation did this? I’ve to jog my memory, but this is a nice gesture. Such limited releases provide much needed media for the fans and with some bonus stuff packed in makes it a great showcase for fans at large. Antonio (Iron, Blood And Death Corporation) is a smart man and I’m glad he’s putting his money where his mouth is! The first four tracks are part of their “Mortem” EP from 2024. Although at the onset this felt like a generic Black Metal release, the Colombians have clearly put their heart into the songwriting here and their execution is on point! The rhythm section could use a bit of levelling, but the solos where present kick it out of the park. The vocals are pretty straightforward and fit into the overall scheme of things well. The melodicism in the music is apparent and although it doesn’t hit you in your face, it builds up slowly in the backend, making up for any inconsistencies beforehand. I’m on the fence about this compilation, there are few tracks I quite like and a couple that I just skipped. Regardless, “Siniestras Voces Del Inframundo” is an excellent representation of Latin American Black Metal, which is a blend of mystic aura and Norwegian darkness.
