It’s been 4 long years since German blackened Thrash / Death Metal act DISÖRDER recorded their debut album, titled "Wolvenstein". The band’s follow-up album, "Sin For Salvation – The Lucifer Chronicles", that is about to get released soon – well, hopefully at least, all I can say is that some things are gladly never meant to be changed. DISÖRDER sounds – as usual, as ugly, brutal, vile and sinister as ever before, once again putting lots of weight on keeping things somewhat simple, straightforward – and most importantly, as catchy as possible. DISÖRDER’s ravishing grimness on this new 10-track offering (off which 2 tracks are instrumentals) just appeals to me from every direction; blame it mostly on the band’s killer old school sound that carries enough true rawness and primitiveness in it what it takes to make a record like this. Keyboard’s presence on this record – basically working out as a creator of dark and twisted atmospheres (as it did on their previous album, "Wolvenstein" already), definitely brings more depth and layers into the songs – and overall giving more of that needed punch to each track, to make them bloom into somewhere where utter evil always prevails exclusively. ‘Witches’, which is a track number eight in order on "Sin…", is perhaps the best example of DISÖRDER’s very wise and careful use of the keyboards, placing them finely to the background of the song, and not letting them to ride roughshod over other elements in this particular tune in question. As good as the aforementioned song is, in my opinion the album’s 2nd song, ‘Kill God’, is the one that sets DISÖRDER’s own war torch flaming the hottest way against all things holy (message well received, guys). Also the next song after this, the gloomy ‘Phoenix Rising’, rips through the air like a messenger of death, absolutely turning out to be one of the better tunes DISÖRDER have ever written during the band’s whole existence of 8 years.
